Apple Sends New iOS 9 Software Update Pop up

If you are using any iOS 9 compatible device, then you may have received a pop up from Apple.

Only iOS users using iOS 9 beta firmware are receiving this pop up that displays the message:

“A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 9 beta.”

Here is where it gets interesting:

If you go to update to the latest iOS firmware from your device to the “Software Update” section – there is no new update.

If we had to speculate, this is Apple’s way of teasing its users to get the latest update. In any case, several iOS users are excited to try out the upcoming iOS 9 stable version… and like us, can’t wait to upgrade all the iPhones and iPads to this new firmware.

If you haven’t received this pop up update, Reddit user (thread link) recommends you to change the date of your device.

When you change the date, to say tomorrow, then Apple will show this pop up on your home screen. But a pop up is all you get – no “real” update.

This will change when Apple announces iOS 9 GM version and stable version on September 9th (see release dates of iOS 9).
