Automatically Install iOS 9 After It’s Fully Downloaded

Just imagine you are busy with your work and don’t have the time to update your iPhones / iPads to the latest iOS 9 firmware.

What can you do then?

With earlier iOS firmware, the only solution was to sit through the entire download and installation process. Not exactly a productive process, right?

Here is how it worked:

You begin by downloading iOS through the Software Update section (and sometimes stumble upon errors like Software Update Failed)…

Next, when iOS has been fully downloaded, you will have to begin part 2 of the process: the installation. This may take some time.

But all this has changed with the new iOS 9 feature that allows you to update iOS 9 on specific time.

For example: You can download iOS 9 via OTA and then let Apple know the time you want to install this update – in our case, it’s 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM.

If you agree to that, hit “Install Tonight” or you can always tap on “Remind Me Later”.

In other words, automatically installing iOS 9 is possible now. This feature was first seen on iOS 9.0 beta firmware.

Note: iOS 9 auto install will only “install” the firmware on your iPhone / iPad given that you have already downloaded the iOS firmware. This doesn’t help you when the Apple servers are busy.
