Facebook App Consumes Battery in iOS 9

Facebook runs in the background while consuming battery of your iPhone or iPad. It consumes battery even when you are not using your iOS devices.

Here’s the fact: Almost every month I check the App Store for app updates, there is a Facebook app update that is designed to work smoother on our iOS devices.

In fact, Facebook says it has “optimized” the app for iOS 9… yet we hear complaints from all the users about this battery issues.

In fact, as posted in Reddit, Facebook app consumed 89% of the battery in less than 10 hours. And the worst part? Location and background services were disabled.

Even then, for unknown reasons, Facebook consumed battery juice – in fact, it sucked all the energy out of the iPhone (and iPad).

This problem isn’t new. Many iOS users in the past have reported such activities, but such massive drains are rare.

Maybe it has to do with the jailreaking tweaks installed on the devices…

Whatever the reason is, if you are facing similar problems – the best decision, as posted on Reddit, is to delete the Facebook app from your device.

Once you have done that, use Safari browser to log into your Facebook account. If you are in the US, you can also use Paper app that comes with a built-in messenger to chat with your Facebook friends.
