Microsoft Outlook Crashes in iOS 9

ios-9-problems

Updated in the month of August, the latest Outlook app for iOS crashes when you open it from your iPhone / iPad. It also freezes when you tap on “load more conversations.”

The free email app from Microsoft is acting crazy again. It now crashes randomly whenever you try to launch it – so you cannot read, compose, or organize your email messages anymore.

This problem is visible on iOS 9.1 beta firmware.

As one iOS developer says:

“I have been trying to open and read my Outlook emails since morning… but nope, it doesn’t work! It crashes!

Never update to iOS 9.1 beta folks – go back and downgrade to iOS 9!”

Previously, Outlook used to get “stuck” and show blank screen. And now these crashes aren’t helping at all. In fact, we have many tweets from iOS users confirming this:

Even trying to close the Outlook app from the background and re-opening it doesn’t solve this problem. We have also tweeted Outlook to look into this and come up with a quick fix.

Till the issue is resolved, you can use the default Mail app in your iOS.

Update September 17th, 2015: Outlook responds with a tweet requesting to uninstall and re-install the application. This is a temporary fix. Read more.

Update September 19th, 2015: A new version of Outlook for iOS 9 is out now. It fixes bugs and crashes. Read more.
