Call it screen resolution, dimension, or display size, pixel resolution – from a consumer point of view, it all sounds the same. And here, we are sharing the exact resolution of every iOS 9 compatible devices (see list).

Key Points To Remember

  • Any iOS device with a better screen resolution has great viewing angels, offers excellent readability (fonts are clearer) and the display is mesmerizing. Currently, iPad Pro has the highest screen resolution in the iPad section. In the iPhone section, we have iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus with the highest screen resolution.
  • PPI is Pixels Per Inch, which refers to the density of pixel. You should just know that the image appears sharper when the pixels are higher. All the iOS devices have 300 and above PPI display, which is good enough for the human eye – you get to see sharper and clearer images, videos, etc.
  • Knowing the screen size (resolution) of your iOS devices is helpful in many ways – you can crop a picture to the required resolution, or download HD wallpaper with the exact size and so on. For ex: iPhone 6 Plus screen resolution is 1334×750.
  • Whenever you replace the damaged iOS screen (front panel) with a local screen, the resolution changes – you get blurry images, poor viewing angels, dull screen, low contrast, etc. So make sure you are always replacing the screen with a genuine one which doesn’t alter the screen resolution.
  • iPhones and iPads with 1920×1080 resolution or more are often referred to as Full HD devices. As Apple likes to say: Retina and Retina HD.
