I think the solution needs to be modified because the comtypes are no longer functional.

Examine the excerpt that follows. It operates on Ubuntu 20.04 and makes use of unoconv.

Try this code; I find that it works.

Replace #!/usr/bin/env python with #!/usr/bin/env python3 or #!/usr/bin/python3 in the unoconv file (/usr/bin/unoconv) to execute it with a Python 3 interpreter.

Now let’s look at how to convert a PPTX file.

  • It was made with Office PowerPoint 2003 or older and saved in the .PPT file format.
  • It includes one or more charts or diagrams made with PowerPoint 2007 or prior. SmartArt graphics are not included in this.
  • It includes media elements made or added with PowerPoint 2007, including audio and video clips.
  • You are prompted to save the converted presentation after conversion.
  • The original presentation, if it was a PowerPoint 97-2003 (.PPT) file, is kept in addition to the updated version. If you provide the converted presentation the same file name and extension as the original PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint 2010 presentation (.PPTX), the original file gets replaced.
  • On the FILE tab, click.
  • Click CONVERT on the INFO tab.

However, what about the Mac version of this?

TRANSFER YOUR PRESENTATION INTO A PDF FILE

  • Navigate to File > Export.
  • Click PDF from the FILE FORMAT dropdown.
  • Once your slides are saved as a PDF file, you may distribute them using any program or device that can open PDF files, just like you would with any other PDF file.

DOWNLOAD YOUR PRESENTATION AS A PDF.

  • Any animations, transitions, or sounds in a presentation are lost when it is saved as a PDF file, and movies are only shown as one frame.
  • Click SAVE AS from the FILE menu.
  • Enter a new name for the folder containing the converted files in the SAVE AS box.
