Apple iPads Supporting Split View Multitasking & Picture-in-Picture
Split View multitasking (also known as Split-screen multitasking) is a feature that allows you to have two apps actively running side by side on your iPad’s screen.
Picture in Picture (also written as Picture-in-Picture) is another feature that allows you to put one app over the other – and use both the apps at the same time. For ex: You can compose an email and watch the video on your iPad’s screen.
Both these features are available only on iPads running iOS 9.
But only a few of the iPad models can take advantage of them. And here, we are listing these models:
List of iPads Supporting Split View:
- iPad Pro
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini 4
All the older iPads – iPad 2, iPad 3rd gen, 4th gen, iPad Mini, Mini 2, Mini 3 and iPad Air – do not support Split View multitasking.
List of iPads Supporting Picture in Picture & Slide Over:
- iPad Pro
- iPad Air, Air 2
- iPad mini 2, Mini 3, Mini 4
All the older iPads – iPad Mini, iPad 2, iPad 3rd gen, 4th gen – do not support Picture in Picture and Slide over.
