How to download a ZIP file to your mobile

  1. Download and install a zip file opening program, like the Files app from the Google Play Store.

  2. Grant the app access to your device’s files, media, and images during the first setup by clicking "Allow".

  3. At the bottom of your screen, click "Browse".

  4. Locate the ZIP file you want to extract. If you downloaded it as an attachment from an email, it might be in the "Download" folder.

  5. Tap on the file you want to open, then select "Extract". A list of the files in the ZIP folder will open.

  6. To access any of the files, select "All" at the top of the screen and then click the down arrow to the right of a file. You can choose an application to open the file with by tapping "Open with".

  1. Install an archiving program like iZip from the App Store.

  2. Download, install, and open the iZip app.

  3. Tap on "Files" at the top of the screen.

  4. Download the ZIP file to your iPhone.

  5. Locate the ZIP file in your Files app, if you downloaded it from an email or a website.

  6. Press and hold the ZIP file to reveal a pop-up menu.

  7. Press "OK" in the pop-up menu. All the files in the ZIP folder will be automatically extracted, or unzipped.

  8. Use the iZip program to view the extracted files and folders. To open a file with a specific application, tap the "Open In" button located at the bottom of your screen.

  1. Save the ZIP file to your computer before extracting it from an email attachment.

  2. To extract zipped files:

    • Right-click the compressed folder on your PC.
    • Select "Extract All…" to launch the extraction wizard.
    • Press [Next >].
    • Click [Browse…] to select the location where you want to save the files.
    • Press [Next >].
    • Press [Finish].

  2. Open the Files app on your iPhone.

  3. Select a location, such as "On My iPhone" or "iCloud Drive".

  4. After selecting the file(s), tap the "More" button.

  5. In the lower right corner, select the "More" button again and then choose "Compress".

  6. If you selected one file, a ZIP file with the same name will be saved to the folder. If you selected multiple files, a ZIP archive named "Archive.zip" will be saved. To rename the ZIP archive, touch and hold it, then choose "Rename".
