How to Install a Digital Certificate on Your Mobile

Whether you own an iPhone or an Android mobile, we will show you how to install a digital certificate on your Android phone once you have the digital software certificate in your possession (it is a file WITH A.PFX,.P12,.CER, OR.CRT EXTENSION).

To install it on an Android device, simply click the digital certificate; the process is quite similar to installing an Apk file.

Transfer the certificate’s original, uncompressed file to your phone. It is advised that you save the file to your phone and send yourself an email. It can also be sent to you via email, Telegram, WhatsApp, or another messaging service.

Keep the digital certificate in the storage on your phone.

Locate the path where you saved the file by opening the files folder on your phone.

To open the file and enter the key—the password you set for it—click on it. The file will then be encrypted.

You only need to click on the certificate once it has been downloaded during the conversation, if it was sent to you via Telegram or WhatsApp. You won’t need to open your files folder.

Having successfully installed your digital certificate on your Android phone, you can now use it to access our new ENTRE TRÁMITES APP, which allows you to access over 300 procedures online and entirely from your phone.

However, what about using a mobile device to obtain a digital certificate?

Operating systems will differ in how to install Digital Certificates on your mobile device.

Downloading and adding the PKCS#12 or.pfx file to the Android device’s "credential store" is the first step in downloading and installing a certificate on an Android device.

Step 1:
On an Android device, open the certificate pick-up email.

The process of delivering certificates involves an over-the-air enrollment method, in which the enrollment is sent via email to your Android device using the email address you provided when registering.

Enter the certificate pick-up password in step two.

In the email, click the enrollment link. The one-time certificate password that you (or an administrator) created during the certificate ordering process will then need to be entered.

Create a PKCS#12 passphrase in step three.

The installation of an SSL certificate on a mobile device will be covered next.

Make sure your SSL files satisfy the Android requirements before you start.

Go to SETTINGS > SECURITY on your Android admin dashboard.

Select Install from Phone Storage or Install from SD Card under CREDENTIAL STORAGE.

It will display the FILE STORAGE MANAGER. Find your SSL certificate on your gadget.

When asked for the PKCS#12 PASSWORD, enter the one you generated.

Provide a friendly name for your certificate in the CERTIFICATE NAME field.

Congratulations! Your Android device now has an SSL certificate installed.

Now let’s get started with installing a digital certificate.

Launch Chrome on Google. Click on the menu in the upper right corner, then choose SETTINGS.

Then choose Manage Certifications > Show Advanced Settings.

To launch the Certificate Import Wizard, click IMPORT.

Press NEXT.

Click NEXT after browsing to the certificate PFX file you downloaded.

Enter the password that you specified during the certificate download. It is advised that you activate the second and third options on the list. Press NEXT.

Allow the Certificate Import Wizard to decide where the installation should go. Press NEXT. Note: The certificate might not install under Personal in certain cases. If so, choose the second option by hand the next time you run the installation.

Press NEXT. Press FINISH.

After installation, the certificate can be used for secure client or network authentication.
