How to go from PowerPoint to PDF without losing hyperlinks

After posting a response in the forum, I discovered that I was unable to upload a file.

forum, so this is my second reply. Two copies of the PDF I saved are attached.

You’ll note that none of them have working hyperlinks.

Can hyperlinks be preserved on a Mac when saving to PDF?

I used Canva to do all of the layout and design work for my digital planner before having it transfer the file to Powerpoint. From there, I used PowerPoint’s numerous hyperlinks to make the planner simple to use. However, after I saved the file, I had trouble with my PDF losing its hyperlinks. It’s also important to note that I use a Mac for work.

The answer is as follows:

Save your file as a PowerPoint file once you’ve completed modifying it. Next, click "Go to your account" after logging into your Microsoft.com account online. A box of dots appears in the upper left corner; click it to launch PowerPoint.

You can then choose to Download as PDF and Save As from this point on. Your internal links will remain intact.

The problem

Because MACs have their own method for creating PDFs, when you save a PowerPoint document as a PDF, the hyperlinks are lost because the Macs converter takes precedence over PowerPoint’s built-in PDF production tool. The hyperlinks in PowerPoint are preserved when saving via the online version of the presentation, superseding the MAC creation tool.

Although having to go the extra mile is inconvenient, for those of us who still like Powerpoint over Keynote, at least there is a solution.
