How do I activate AirDrop

Verify that the recipient of your message is close by and within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.

Verify that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on for both you and the person you are sending this to.

Verify whether the recipient of your message has AirDrop set to receive from Contacts Only.

Go to Settings and select General to select who can view your device and send you content using AirDrop.

Press AirDrop and select a setting.

Control Center is where you can also adjust your AirDrop settings.

In the upper-left corner of the network settings card, press or touch and hold firmly.

Toggling between Receiving Off, Contacts Only, or Everyone, touch and hold the AirDrop button.

If you are unable to tap to modify Receiving Off, select Settings > Screen Time.

Select Content & Privacy Limitations.

Please ensure that AirDrop is enabled by tapping Allowed Apps.

Devices running iOS 10 or later, iPadOS, or macOS Sierra 10.12 or later can select the Contacts Only option.

Let’s investigate why I am unable to enable AirDrop.

ADVANCE THE AIRDROP SETTINGS AND ENSURE THE DEVICES ARE AWARENESS

From the Finder: Select the object you wish to send by dragging it to the Finder sidebar after clicking AirDrop.

Using an app: To transmit an item to a device, click the Share icon in the app’s toolbar, pick AirDrop, and then Select the device.

You have the option to accept and save an item that someone sends to you on your Mac using AirDrop.

Select an option by clicking the Accept pop-up menu shown in the AirDrop notice on your Mac.
