What about how I set up Adobe Acrobat on a brand-new machine?

  1. Verify that the Internet is accessible from your PC.

  2. Launch the application you wish to use.

  3. When asked, log in. The app is currently operational. If not, select one of the following, based on your app, from the HELP menu:

    • Help > Log in
    • Help > Turn on

You are already signed in if you see SIGN OUT as a menu option.

  4. Verify that the Internet is accessible from your PC.

  5. To deactivate an app, open it and sign in if required.

  6. Depending on your app, select one of the following from the HELP menu:

    • Help > Sign Up
    • Help > Turn Off
  7. When prompted, select one of the following alternatives if you choose HELP > DEACTIVATE:

    • DEACTIVATE OR SUSPEND ACTIVATION: This option temporarily disables the application while keeping license data on your PC.
    • DEACTIVATE PERMANENTLY: This option erases your computer’s licensing data and necessitates a serial number entry in order to activate anew.
  8. Deactivate your apps from the old computer so that you can use them on the new one if you purchased a new one and wish to move your programs across.

  9. You can deactivate your apps from your Adobe account page if the computer on which you installed the product is no longer available (for instance, you lost the computer, formatted the hard drive, or the hard drive crashed). After that, install the programs on the new PC and adhere to the prompts displayed on the screen.
