Let’s examine how device configuration functions.

  1. Device configuration is the process of putting together profiles made up of several function-specific templates.

  2. In order to configure one or more devices specifically for communication and data exchange with the Universal Device Manager and the Timekeeping system, profiles are assigned and uploaded to the devices.

  3. Building blocks, or sets of data, are added to templates to define sets of transactions, definitions, schedules, and badge formats that a device is to use.

  4. Drag a column to the desired location in the display to adjust its position. By deleting or adding any unpinned columns, you can shrink or enlarge the grid.

  5. This list can be filtered in multiple ways based on your needs. For example, you can enter a full or partial search string in the empty cells beneath the column headings by clicking or tapping the Filter button.

  6. High-level templates called device configuration templates are used to arrange the parameters needed to configure and manage device operations.

  7. Go to Configuration > Device and click or tap the plus sign (+) in the template’s column in any row of the configuration grid to add a new template.
