One of the main things people do on the Internet is download files. Almost anything can be found on the internet, and it’s likely that you have been downloading files since you first used a computer. Although your operating system will make an effort to gather all of your downloads in one place, it’s possible that over time, your computer will be covered in downloaded files. It can save you a great deal of time and headache to know where your downloaded files are quickly.
- Examine the download folder. Every user’s default download location for the majority of programs is the Downloads folder that comes with Windows. Your downloads may have become a little dispersed if you use a lot of different programs. The Documents/My Documents folder and your desktop are two other common locations for your downloads to show up.
- ASK TO FIND THE FILE. You can easily open the downloaded file by searching for it if you know its name.
- GO DOWNLOADS LIST WIDE OPEN. In Chrome, you can access a list of your most recent downloads by hitting the Ctrl+J (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+J (Mac) keys, or by clicking the Menu button (☰) and choosing Downloads.
