One of the most widely used word processing programs on computers is Microsoft Word.
You can use any of the following options to open these files—including Word-created and saved files—in Microsoft Word.
- Double-clicking a file will sometimes open it in Microsoft Word.
- You can select the application to open a file with, including Microsoft Word, for any file type.
- To open the file, perform a right-click on it.
- Choose OPEN WITH from the menu that appears.
- Select the Microsoft Word application from the Open with menu, if it is available.
- Choose Microsoft Word from the list of programs in the window that opens. The file should open in Microsoft Word and open in Word.
Open your web browser and navigate to the Word Online website in order to open files in Word Online. In case you are asked to log in, provide your login details.

- To have your files automatically saved in OneDrive, open Word for the Web and begin working there.
- Go to FILE > DOWNLOAD > MICROSOFT WORD (.DOCX) to convert your Google Docs to a Word document. Open the file in Word after that.
- To start a document, choose NEW BLANK DOCUMENT, open a RECENT file, or use one of the templates.
- Choose the document you wish to open by selecting FILE > OPEN.
- You have two options when renaming your document: choose FILE > SAVE AS > RENAME, or click the file name at the top and enter a new name.
- Word for the Web automatically saves your edits. Additionally, you have the option to save a copy of your document locally or online by choosing DOWNLOAD A COPY, save it as a PDF by choosing DOWNLOAD AS PDF, or save it as an ODT by choosing DOWNLOAD AS ODT.

- Windows files can occasionally become corrupted or damaged. Opening these files in Microsoft Word becomes challenging as a result.

- Open the PDF in Word to make edits.
- PDFs that are primarily text-based work best with this.
- Go to OPEN under FILE.
- Locate the PDF file and click on it (you may need to use BROWSE to locate the file in a folder).
- Word tells you that it’s going to make a copy of the PDF and convert its contents into a format that Word can display.
- Nothing will be done to the original PDF. Click OK.
- After editing, you can save it as a PDF or Word document.
