iTunes 12.3 Update Released With iOS 9 Support For Mac / Windows


Every year, with the launch of iOS 9, Apple releases new software and hardware. Now, we have a new software of iTunes – version 12.3 – available for immediate download.

At this point, both Mac and Windows users can get the latest version of iTunes player for free.


This new iTunes 12.3 has major bug fixes. It is optimized for iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan.

iTunes now also includes two-factor authentication system, one that is required to keep your account secure. This is probably the biggest addition this media player, useful especially for those families having multiple iTunes account on a single computer.

In addition to that, Apple Music has been improved further in iTunes 12.3.

To wrap it up, here’s what’s new in iTunes 12.3:

– Improves Apple Music accessibility with VoiceOver
– Resolves a problem that prevented reordering of songs within Up Next
– Fixes a problem where some radio stations did not appear within Recently Played
– Addresses an issue where songs you loved on iOS did not appear love on iTunes
– Supports two-factor authentication to secure your Apple ID

This update also includes improvements to overall stability and performance.

  • On Mac:

If you are using iMac, MacBook (Pro or Air) with OS X Mountain Lion or higher, then you can launch the Mac App Store to find the newest iTunes version. Request for download.

Alternatively, you can open attains and choose iTunes from the menu bar. Then click “Check for Updates” to replace your old iTunes player with the new one.

  • On Windows:

If you are using a Windows computer or laptop with Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10, then you can open iTunes player and select “Help” from the menu bar.

Next, click on “Check for Updates” and follow the directions to install the newest iTunes player.

Update September 19th, 6:40 PM: Note that the new iTunes player works only on Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10. Old Windows computer cannot get this update.

So if you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, Apple has a new iTunes (v12.1.3) update with support for iOS 9.
