Want To Access Apple Maps Online Without iPhone / iPad? Try This

Note: Apple hasn’t officially released a full blown version of its Apple Maps on the web. For now, there is this “workaround” that gives you a feel of the online version of Apple Maps – without having to use any of your iOS devices.

Apple Maps was first introduced in the year 2012, and since then this navigation app has seen a massive improvement across iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

As this year is huge for Apple – having released iOS 9 and iPhone 6s, 6s Plus – the company has also updated its websites with more details. And with that, Apple has added Apple Maps on its webpages – which you can use now.

All the retail store pages have been changed to this:

Click on “Driving directions and maps” and you will get a glimpse of Apple Maps on your browser:

Next, click “Get Driving Directions” and select any one out of the three map types currently available: Standard, Hybrid, Satellite.

Of course, you can always Google (link here) to find many more retail stores with Apple Maps embedded on every page.

iOS 9’s Apple Maps offers transit directions and many other interesting features – which are all missing from the web version.

Nothing spectacular here. But we first saw this on Reddit and wanted to share it here. Having done so much of work, the next logical step for Apple is to probably release a full version of its Apple Maps online? That would be great!

And let’s not forget about Google Maps – which is the biggest go-to source for finding directions through the web, smartphones and tablets.
